We have had the pleasure of running two SEN Support Workshops recently and feedback has been really good, as has the demand.

So we have organised another 3 dates:

Wednesday 7th March – 6pm – 8pm at The Holiday Inn

Wednesday 21st March – 4:30-6:30pm at The Bolton Hub

Thursday 3rd May – 9:45-11:45 at The Bolton Hub

he SEN Support Workshop is aimed at parents and carers who have a child or young person who is being supported in their educational setting under the SEN Support Framework. The reason we decided to develop this workshop is that we feel that since the introduction of EHC Plans in 2014, so much focus has been placed on Plans, that the level of support that sits under a Plan has been a bit neglected in terms of information available. SEN Support is a framework that recognises that your child/young person has Special Educational Needs (SEN) and sets out provision and a framework to support them. It also has a legal framework.

Our workshop is very specific to the Bolton process, it will talk you through how SEN are identified and what happens next, and how parent and carers are involved in the process. It goes on to explain the types of provision that SEN Support can offer and also how the support is regularly reviewed. We have also designed a booklet that you will be given to take home that covers the legal aspects of SEN Support.

We run the sessions in relatively small groups and we encourage you to ask questions as we go along – the aim is to have quite interactive sessions so that you get the most of of it.

If you are not sure if the workshop is right for your situation, we have designed a quick questionnaire that you can do that will ask a few questions and help you work out whether you would benefit from attending. Click here for the questionnaire.
